Messiah of Evil aka Dead People

A young woman makes a journey to see her father. He has been writing her letters that have become more and more strange. She arrives at a gas station. At the same time a strange and ugly man arrives in a pick up truck and ask for two dollars in gas. The attended looks in the back of the truck and sees two dead bodies, The girl walks over to the attended and tells him that he forgot to take her money. He tells he to get out. A few hours late. The attended is beaten bloody after the lights in the station were turned out.

The young woman arrives at her fathers home that same evening. She finds the home to be a mess. She walks though the house slowly looking at the paintings and drawings her father did. She comes to a table and finds a large pad with drawings and some information written in it. He wrote about the gross images that were coming to his mind. No matter how hard he tried to think of other things, his mind would always drift back to the images of death.

When she ventures out into the city, she finds out that her father was running in some pretty exclusive circles. She comes to a hotel room where an old drunk is telling the story about the time when the moon turned to blood and many people began bleeding. When pushed for more information, he chooses to take his bottle of wine and leave. The daughter is stopped outside of the hotel room and is told by the old man that she needs to kill her own father and that she needs to burn him, not bury him. Later that afternoon, the man was found dead in an alley with his body half eaten.

Speaking of half eaten, A woman named Lauren was walking down the street. She tried to check into a hotel and no clerk could be found. She walks back out of the hotel office and sees someone. She tries to get this persons attention and follows him into a store. She walks to the back of the store where she finds a group of well dressed people eating raw meat out of the freezer. She starts to run away but they catch up to her and begin to feed on her.

The best scene in the movie is set in a movie theater. One of the girls named Toni went to cinema to watch “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye”. After she purchases a ticket and enters the theater, the lady in the ticket office places a “closed” sign in the window. After a few minutes of watching the movie, the well dressed zombies enter the theater one or two at a time. I have the scene posted with this blog so I will let you watch and enjoy the flick without giving everything away.

There were some small continuity issues. For example, the young woman turns and walks away from a conversation, then we see a cut away to a reaction shot, then the woman is standing in the same position as she was before. The first person discription she uses sounds like something read from a book, The movie is more of an art film than a traditional horror movie. The director makes good use of the artwork in the movie. This one can be found in the “Chiller” set released by Mills Creek Entertainment.
